About ICT Foresight
From September 2005 until March 2007, we are looking at the impact of ICT (information and communication technology) on the VCS (voluntary and community sector). This means not only looking at how VCOs (voluntary and community organisations) use or could use ICT to further their missions, but also at how ICT is driving change in society, and what implications this has for VCOs and the complex relationships they have with their many stakeholders (funders, beneficiaries, users, volunteers, donors, staff, regulators, competitors, partners, etc. etc. etc.)
We have scoped out four areas of work, each of which will lead to a report:
-
ICT and campaigning and consultation - published October 2006
-
ICT and social networking
-
ICT and service delivery and the e-government agenda
-
ICT and accountability and transparency
The reports will be aimed at voluntary and community organisations, from small community groups to big name charities. The aim is to stimulate thinking about the changing operating environment, future direction and strategic decisions.
