About Third Sector Foresight
NCVO’s Third Sector Foresight Project aims to help UK voluntary and community organisations to plan effectively for the future, with a particular emphasis on providing information on drivers and trends affecting the voluntary and community sector.
Our vision is of voluntary and community organisations able to meet the needs of their users and beneficiaries within a fast changing and complex world.

The challenge is that in many voluntary organisations, this process is constrained by immediate demands, a lack of time and skills gaps. We aim to address this by:

Providing regular, relevant and concise information on trends affecting the VCS

Providing in-depth analysis of the impact of these trends on VCOs which is unavailable elsewhere

Developing and signposting to tools to allow VCOs to understand and use this information to develop robust strategic plans

Facilitating knowledge sharing and peer support around strategic issues and processes
